Get to Know Amy

Amy was raised in Virginia and has resided in the Charlotte area for over 13 years. Amy has two young children and enjoys being outdoors. She enjoys being active whether that be hiking, gardening, or playing tennis.  
 
When working with Amy, you will find she is compassionate and responsive to client needs. Amy is actively involved in the therapeutic process while also meeting clients where they are. Clients may find they are gently encouraged to stretch beyond their comfort zone to explore adaptive coping strategies, restore healthy thought patterns, and regulate distressing symptoms. 

Education

Amy holds a MA from Marymount University in Community Counseling. Amy is a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor in North Carolina as well as a Nationally Certified Counselor. Amy is licensed to provide Telehealth in Florida, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, and Virginia.

Know Ziggy

Ziggy is a Cavapoo who is in training to become a therapy dog. Therapy dogs can be a great addition to the therapeutic process as they can increase an individual’s ability to regulate emotional arousal. Research has shown that therapy dogs decrease symptoms of anxiety and depression, reduce stress levels, and increase adaptive cognitions. Additionally, therapy dogs are exceptional social catalysts as they encourage the development of social understanding, increase empathy within interpersonal skills, and heighten awareness of nonverbal social cues. 

 

If you are interested in having Ziggy attend your therapy session please let us know.
